Restoration of the historic structure

B&B was appointed by Concorde BGW to undertake structural repairs and specialist stone masonry works to the gable end of Pollards Inn, a Grade II listed public house located in Neston, Cheshire. Scheduled to commence in early 2026, the project will focus on stabilising and restoring the historic gable structure in accordance with heritage and building control requirements.

Scope of Works

Structural assessment and preparation of repair methodology in consultation with structural engineers and conservation officers
Careful dismantling and rebuilding of compromised gable sections using traditional techniques
Stone masonry repairs, including repointing, replacement of damaged units, and lime mortar application
Installation of temporary supports and safety barriers during works
Coordination of scaffolding, access, and site welfare facilities
Final inspection and documentation for handover

The objective is to deliver a structurally sound and visually sympathetic restoration of the gable, preserving the architectural significance of Pollards Inn while ensuring long-term stability and compliance. Works will be completed in line with Concorde BGW’s specification, programme, and statutory requirements
